November 4, 2003-Life in Bhagsu
Nice hot shower this morning, some laundry and then instead of hanging around in my pajamas like I do at Kailwood in the morning, got dressed and came out to the restaurant in town (down one hill and up another). this is a whole different feeling, more like a vacation kind of thing. Abdullah is meeting me at 11 and we will go to the waterfall and then have lunch. He wants to try the Mexican food here. saw "Raymond" last night on TV but as luck would have it, it will continue next week...too bad! silly anyway....shrek was good as ever and many poeple think I'm silly for liking it so much but it is truly amazing the way the whole thing was made and the "humanness" of the characters.
Well, Abdellah did come, and we had a pleasant walk up to the waterfall, nice lunch and then I walked him back down to McLeod and came back up to Bhagsu and here I am. It is quite cloudy today but still not cold as it was a couple of weeks ago so I am pleased...still fine for walking...
By the way, I found this Himalaya Ayurveda stuff for arthritic problems, joints etc. and this is the second time I have used it and it seems to be almost a miracle cream...last time was for my hip and overnight it stopped hurting, and yesterday morning, while packing, I hit my knee on the point of the bed and was really suffering. By the afternoon, with all the Reiki I was doing, I could barely walk up and down the stairs to my room. I rubbed the cream in 2 times before going to sleep at night, and woke up this morning without the slightest twinge of anything wrong!...perhaps it is the reiki in combination with the cream...but whatever it is, I will buy more to bring home. There are also tablets which I bought for instant relief during an attack but have not used them yet.
For those who asked...the rest of my trip is as follows: I will be in Bhagsu until Saturday...check out at noon and spend the rest of the day down at Kailwood with friends until my bus leaves at 6 PM and arrives around 6 AM in Delhi. Straight to Star Paradise to rest for a few hours (doubt I will sleep much at night) and then will be meeting Milan and Mati (his grandmother...the amazing lady I met on my last trip and wrote about) hopefully in the afternoon or evening. Monday I hope to do some last minute shopping at Ahokhi and Fab India and see what I can find and easily bring home. I think I will have to get one more small bag, but perhaps not. May be I will be lucky and not find anything I like!...Tuesday morning I must be at the airport at 9:30 for a 12:30 flight on Uzbekistan Airlines with 4 hour stopover in Tashkent before arriving home at 9:30 PM in Ben Gurion. (Things did not quite work out this way...I was late getting down to Mcleod in the mornng, and everyone had gone off to Kokila's farmhouse except Abdellah, who was waiting for me...Ashish scolded me for being late, and then Abdellah and I went off by taxi, even though I had expected just to rest before catching the bus at 6. It was already 2 in the afternoon. But we got to the farmhouse, which was amazingly beautiful, spent a short time, and then Arjun arranged for a car to take us ALL back to Kailwood, which made everyone else happy, not having to spend so long at the open house dinner there with all the Indian and Nepali relatives...in the end , my bus was cancelled and had to wait until 8, got to Delhi late in the morning to find my room had been given away and they put me up in a different hotel, rested and woke up feverish in the afternoon...never went shopping, never went visiting, arrived home sick and stayed that way for a couple of weeks...everything I never had in India I had when I got home, high fever, diarrhea, weakness and herpes....)
Seems like it is too soon and yet not soon enough ....but each day just flies by now....
So, see you all soon...
