Exclusive Chinese Restaurant in Chennai
Honestly don't know if I wrote this before, but last week we went out one evening to a fancy restaurant. I had wanted to treat Ravin and his parents but initially his father refused as he was unwilling to take money from a guest so to speak...but for some reason they agreed and we went to a really classy Chinese place....we went fairly early in the evening so did not need a reservation, but as we were nearing the end of our meal the place really started filling up. The place was really beautiful and could have been in any city anywhere in the world. If it was not for the indicative dress of the women, you would have no hint as to where you were...We had like this personal waiter overlooking our table and making sure the water glasses were always full, serving the dishes onto our plates from the main platter etc. The food was truly lovely from the soup to the main course...no dessert as we were all stuffed by then and had of course shared the courses between us. But it is not the food that I want to write about, as Chinese food is delicious when properly prepared no matter where you eat it, but the fact that a restaurant of this caliber any place else in the world would be frightfully expensive...I'm sure for just two people to eat in a place like this in Israel would be at least 800 shekel, if not more...I'm not sure, it has slipped my mind, but we did not pay more than 1000 rupees for the 4 of us to eat our full (Ravin just reminded me..it was 650 or so)...Again I say that if someone really wants to have a truly pampering vacation, and they have a little money, India is the place to come!
